there is an awakening that is happening now

I am changing my Substack account name to universal humanity to reflect my goal of sharing stories about individuals and communities promoting critical thinking and acting to make our world better for being healthy, thriving humans.

There is an awakening going on right now. Maybe it is because the weight of capitalism-gone-wild has become so irritating that even those of us with 401k accounts are beginning to feel the irrational anxieties of the super rich - and hate that feeling?

Maybe it is because commercialization has made us all have to wade through the tasks of discernment between real and fake?

Maybe it is because that, from autocorrect to autonomous weapons, we feel that those driving the AI revolution don’t care about the mistakes AI is perpetuating upon us every minute by a Frankensteinian machine that we are losing control of by the millisecond?

Maybe it is because we have a POTUS who has shown ALL of the colors of what it is like for evil people to become the most powerful people in the world?

Maybe it is because we have a political party structure that has reached an epic end from leaning into polarization rather than integration for a higher political cause - the greater common good?

Maybe it is because the things we have always believed in don’t seem to pass muster for solving our own personal, family, neighborhood and national problems?

We can all feel this.

Maybe it is because we feel that the world should be interconnected and HUGE, but not in the way it is now?

There have always been wise communities that have solved these problems. We have had isolated lights of faith in humanity that have shown us how to thrive rather than become obsessed with rivalry.

These communities have somehow avoided many of the pitfalls of sexism, ageism, racism and every kind of social phobia and hate. They have and continue to reject supremacy between ethnic groups, religions, economic classes and every stripe of the beautiful rainbow of humanity we can imagine.

They imagine and practice a universal humanity.

I have been trying to explore that here on Substack. I want to explore that here more, better and clearer. I will leave my old posts, but I hope you find a fresher, more forward looking intentionality to my future posts, reposts and likes.

So I am changing my Substack account name for that purpose. Change is good when change is for the greater good.
